Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State dropped the 2002-03 GLIAC opener Monday (Dec. 2) night to South division foe Findlay by a 78-59 margin. The Lakers fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in league action.
Findlay opened up a 40-30 lead after 20 minutes of action. GVSU drew within five (57-52) with 10:19 left in the game, but Findlay outscored the Lakers 21-5 from that point on to claim the 19-point win. Freshman guard Al Mans led GVSU with 10 points, while fellow freshman Jeff Grauzer added nine points.
GVSU will hit the road for Thursday for a GLIAC contest at Mercyhurst College.
