Grand Rapids, Mich. - Marcus Wallace led Grand Valley State with 18 points and earned Select Bank Classic Most Valuable Player plaudits as the Lakers claimed a 76-74 comeback victory over Calvin College Saturday night at Van Andel Arena. GVSU claimed its third Hall of Fame Classic Championship.

The Lakers trailed 44-34 at the half, but outscored the Knights 42-30 in the final 20 minutes to take the tournament title. Freshman Mike Hall, who was also named to the all-tournament team, recorded 15 points and seven rebounds, while Melvin White added 12 points and Courtney James 10 in the winning effort.
