Romeoville, Ill. - Grand Valley State (1-1) dropped a 103-63 decision at natioally-ranked Lewis Saturday (Nov. 23) night. GVSU trailed by just 12 (42-30) at the half, but was outscored 61-33 in the second stanza.

Junior Melvin White led GVSU with 17 points, connecting on three three-pointers. Freshman guard Courtney James chipped in 14 points, while fellow freshman Al Mans added 10 points. GVSU shot just 36.5 percent from the field, while Lewis hit 54.9 percent from the field. LU also outrebounded the Lakers 51-30. Grand Valley State will open the home portion of its schedule Monday (Nov. 25) vs. Finlandia. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
