In a game that went back and forth all night, Grand Valley State fell 72-71 to Indianapolis Thursday. GVSU is now 1-1 overall and will host Lewis University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

The Lakers trailed 72-70 with 48 second left. Marcus Wallace was fouled and hit the first free throw, but missed the second. Wallace grabbed the offense rebound, but GVSU missed a three-point attempt and was forced to foul as time was running out.

GVSU trailed by two at the half, but held Indianapolis to just 27.3 shooting from the field. However, Indy came out and shot 57.7% in the second half.

Wallace led the Lakers with 22 points and six rebounds, while Melvin White added 19 points and eight boards. Courtney James recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and eight assists.
