Grand Valley State won its first game of the season on a last second shot by guard Courtney James. James nailed a two-pointer and Finlandia couldn't connect on a shot as time ran out to give the Lakers a 69-67 edge. GVSU will host Indianapolis on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Marcus Wallace was GVSU's leading scorer with 24 points, three steals and four assists. Eric Chess was the only other Laker to record double-figures as he had 11 poimts and a team-high six rebounds. James ended the game with nine points and three assists.

GVSU trailed 36-32 at the half, but outscored Finlandia 37-31 in the second half.
