Grand Valley State dropped a 77-62 decision at #10 Michigan State Wednesday night in an exihibition game at the Breslin Center. GVSU overcame a large defecit in the opening 10 minutes and battled back to outscore Michigan State in the final 20 minutes by a 41-33 margin.
Michigan State jumped out to early lead and led 44-21 at the half. The Spartans even built a 28 point lead early in the second half, but the Lakers played tough and cut the Michigan State lead down to 15 on a couple of occasion in the final 20 minutes. MSU shot just 34.8% in the second half, as GVSU shot 50.5% from the field.
Freshman Jason Jamerson led the Lakers with 10 points, while redshirt freshman Callistus Eziuku added eight points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore Mike Hall and Brian Arnold each recorded nine points.
The Lakers will begin regular season play at Lock Haven on November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
