Grand Valley State dropped its regular season finale game, 73-64, at Northern Michigan Saturday. GVSU falls to 18-9 overall and 11-7 in GLIAC play. The Lakers are seeded #2 in the GLIAC North and will host #3-seeded Michigan Tech in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament. The game will be held at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena on Tuesday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m.

The score was tied 10-10 with 12:37 left in the first half, but the Wildcats went on a 15-2 run to take a 25-14 lead with 5:36 remaining. Grand Valley cut the lead to six points on a three-pointer by Jeff Grauzer, however, Northern Michigan increased it to 12 with eight second left in the half. Kyle Carhart nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to cut the NMU lead to 35-26 at the half.

Northern Michigan led by as many as 15 points in the second half and never looked back. Carhart hit another three-pointer at the end of the game, but the Wildcats walked away with the 73-64 win.

Senior guard Marcus Wallace posted 12 points and four rebounds, while sophomore Mike Hall also recorded 12 points. Junior forward Jeff Grauzer tallied 11 points.

Northern Michigan outrebounded the Lakers by a 42-27 margin.
