Box Score

Houghton, Mich. - Michigan Tech outscored Grand Valley State 13-5 to close the first half and take a 37-30 lead into the lockerroom and never looked back en route to a 76-68 victory in Houghton. GVSU falls to 18-8 overall and 11-6 in GLIAC action. The Lakers will be at Northern Michigan Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff.

GVSU closed to within a point in the final 20 minutes, but the Huskies always had and answer and more often than not it was to the tune of a three-pointer. Junior guard Courtney James led GVSU with a season-high 24 points and six rebounds. Callistus Eziukwu added 16 point on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor. GVSU hit 52.0 percent of its shots from the floor, but the Huskies offset the Lakers' shooting by connecting on 14 three-pointers. GVSU outrebounded the Huskies 34-23, but it wasn't enough in this GLIAC road game.
