Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley shot 50% from the floor Monday night, but it wasn't enough as archrival Ferris State claimed a 91-78 victory over the Lakers. GVSU falls to 13-11 overall and 5-10 in GLIAC action, while the Bulldogs improve to 11-13 overall and 11-4 in conference play.

Although they shot 55.2% from the field in the first half, the Lakers still trailed 41-36 after 20 minutes of action. Grand Valley went up by two points on a jumper by Courtney James in the second half, but the Bulldogs went on to outscore the Lakers 21-1 to take a 66-48 lead. The Lakers converted just 7-of-20 free throws.

Grand Valley had six players score in double-figures with Courtney James leading the way with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Marcus Wallace and Jerry Wallace each scored 12 points, while Eric Chess and Mike Hall added 11 points apiece. Twins Carlton and Corey Epps led FSU with 20 and 21 points.

Grand Valley State will return to action Thursday (Feb. 19) at Northwood. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
