Big Rapids, Mich. - Senior center Jason Bauer led GVSU with a 28-point, 17-rebound effort as GVSU kept its GLIAC playoff hopes alive with an impressive 70-64 road win at West Michigan rival Ferris State Monday (Feb. 10) night. GVSU improves to 11-12 overall and 6-9 in league action with the win.

Grand Valley State jumped out to a 41-28 lead after 20 minutes of action and never looked back. Ferris State cut the lead down to three in the closing seconds, but GVSU converted its free throws to preserve the win. GVSU placed four players in double figures. In addition to Bauer's double-double, senior forward Duke Cleveland scored a career-high 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Junior forward Melvin White added 12 points, all on three-pointers and freshman guard Courtney James added 10 points and eight assists. GVSU outrebounded FSU 44-34.

Grand Valley State will host Saginaw Valley State Thursday (Feb. 13) at 8 p.m. Bauer and Cleveland will be honored prior to tipoff.
