Big Rapids, Mich. - Grand Valley State freshman center Callistus Eziukwu tallied the first triple-double in school history with 25 points, 12 rebounds and a school-record 13 blocked shots Monday night at Ferris State, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs claimed a 76-75 win in overtime. The Bulldogs tied the game at 69-69 with a tip in at the buzzer of regulation and then won it on a buzzer-beater by Dennis Springs in overtime. GVSU falls to 16-7 overall and 8-5 in league action.

The game was tied at the half, 35-35, and neither team was unable to build a substantial lead in the second half. GVSU held a four point lead with 14 seconds left on a pair of Kyle Carhart free throws, but Springs hit a driving layup to pull the Bulldogs within two (69-67). GVSU missed a pair of free throws with nine seconds left to leave the door open and FSU took advantage with tip in of a missed shot at the buzzer to tie game at 69-69.

In addition to Eziukwu, Marcus Wallace scored 13 points, while Courtney James added 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Freshman Jason Jamerson added 10 points. GVSU held a 47-38 rebounding advantage and converted 27-of-61 shots from the floor, but the Lakers were able to convert just 14-of-25 free throws and turned the ball over 18 times.

Grand Valley State and Ferris State are now tied for first place in the GLIAC North Division with 8-5 records. GVSU will host Saginaw Valley State Thursday (Feb. 10) at 8 p.m. in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.
