University Center, Mich. - Grand Valley State used a hot shooting night to pick up a key 98-75 GLIAC road victory over Saginaw Valley State Monday night. The win snapped a five-game losing streak as the Lakers improved to 11-6 overall and 3-5 in league action.

GVSU built a 52-40 halftime lead and continued its torrid shooting the final 20 minutes en route to the 23 point win. GVSU hit 38-of-65 shots (58.5%) from the floor, including a season-best 13-of-20 from the three-point line.

Eric Chess hit three three-pointers en route to a season-high 24 points. Marcus Wallace added 23 points and three treys, while Melvin White hit five-of-seven three's en route to 17 points. The Lakers rebounded from a 4-28 three-point performance Saturday afternoon at home versus Gannon. Freshman Brian Arnold dished out a career-best 10 assists for GVSU.

Grand Valley State will return home Thursday (Feb. 2) to host #19 Findlay at 8 p.m.
