Grand Valley State's men's basketball team dropped its third straight game as they fell, 88-79 Saturday in a GLIAC matchup against Hillsdale College. The Lakers fall to 10-4 overall and 2-3 in the GLIAC.

The Lakers only trailed by two points at halftime, but Hillsdale outscored GVSU, 55-48, in the second half to seal the win. Hillsdale tallied 13 more rebounds and 10 more free throws than the Lakers.

Junior guard Marcus Wallace led GVSU with 28 points. Sophomore guard Courtney James tallied 18 points, while freshman guard Brian Arnold added 11 points, four assists, and four rebounds.

The Lakers will return home next week for two GLIAC contests as they host Mercyhurst on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 8:00 p.m. and Gannon on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 3:00 p.m.
