Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State jumped out to a 53-35 halftime lead and never looked backe en route to a 105-62 home win over UM-Dearborn Monday (Jan. 13) in a non-league game. Grand Valley State, which has won five straight games, improved to 8-7 overall, while UM-Dearborn falls to 6-14.

All 12 players that played scored for the Lakers, highlighted freshman forward Nate Bassett's career-high 15 points. Justen Naughton and Nate Hinkle each tallied 13 points, while freshman guards Al Mans and Jerry Wallace notched 12 points apiece. The Lakers hit 15 three-pointers and outrebounded UM-Dearborn 57-31. GVSU also dished out a season-high 31 assists and recorded 14 steals. Freshman forward Eric Voisin scored seven points and pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds.

Grand Valley State will host West Michigan rival Ferris State Saturday (Jan. 18) at 8 p.m. in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. Grand Valley State University will honor the 2002 NCAA Division II National Championship football team at halftime of the men's game.
