Houghton, Mich. - Michigan Tech outscored Grand Valley State 37-24 in the final 20 minutes and went on to claim a 61-52 GLIAC victory Thursday night in Houghton, Mich. GVSU falls to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in GLIAC action.

Grand Valley State led by as many as six in the opening half and led 28-24 at the break. The second half, however, was much different as Michigan Tech outscored the Lakers by 13 points. The Huskies converted 11-of-22 shots in the second stanza, while GVSU hit just 9-of-31 shots from the field (29.0 percent) in the closing half. Michigan Tech was 11-11 from the charity stripe in the second half.

Senior guard Courtney James was the only Laker to reach double figures with a game-high 17 points. Callistus Eziukwu and Mike Hall each chipped in eight points. GVSU won the battle of the boards by a 35-33 margin as Eziukwu and Hall pulled down seven and six, respectively. Grand Valley State will return to action Saturday, Jan. 7 for a 3 p.m. matchup with Northern Michigan.
