Grand Valley men's basketball team defeated Wayne State, 84-66, to pick up their first GLIAC win of the season. Melvin White led the Lakers with 19 points, connecting on 5-of-6 three pointers. Senior Jason Bauer added 17 points and 16 rebounds.

The Lakers went on a 30-5 run to end the first half, giving them a 45-28 lead at the break. Justen Naughton and Nate Bassett both added 11 points for GVSU.

Grand Valley is now 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the GLIAC. The Lakers will host Hillsdale College in another GLIAC matchup on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
