Allendale, Mich. - Courtney James led four Lakers in double figures with 15 points as Grand Valley State claimed a 73-34 victory over Goshen College Saturday afternoon in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. GVSU improves to 9-2 on the year with the win.
GVSU led 39-14 at the half behind 54.8 percent shooting from the floor. In addition, GVSU limited Goshen to just 19.2 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes. The second half was much of the same as the Lakes outscored Goshen 34-20. GVSU hit 51.7 percent (31-60) from the floor and outrebounded Goshen 42-25 in the contest.
James led the Lakers with 15 points, six assists and three steals. Marcus Wallace contributed 14 points, five assists and six rebounds, while Jason Jamerson added 14 points and eight rebounds. Callistus Eziukwu notched his sixth double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Lakers tallied 14 steals on the day.
