Burt Paddock is in his fourth season as the top assistant coach for the Laker basketball program. Paddock spent two years as an assistant coach at St. Joseph's College (Ind.) before coming to GVSU. He is responsible for various day-to-day duties within the Laker basketball program, in addition to being the lead recruiter.

While at St. Joseph's College, Paddock helped the Pumas to a pair of conference tournament appearances. Prior to SJC, Paddock was an assistant varsity boy's basketball coach at Alexandria-Monroe (Ind.) High School from 1997-2000. Alexandria-Monroe won the 2A State Championship his first year and advanced to the IHSAA Final Four his second year.

Paddock turned in a stellar four-year career at Manchester (Ind.) College. The Spartans were 92-22 during his career, including a mark of 54-5 his first two years. Manchester advanced to the NCAA DIII tournament twice, including a trip to the National Championship game in 1995 versus Wisconsin-Platteville. Paddock concluded his career as the Spartans' second all-time leading scorer (1,989) and recorded the single-game record for points (51) vs. Rose-Hulman in 1997. In addition, Burt holds the Manchester record for three-pointers in a game (7), season (95) and career (302). Paddock, who earned Freshman of the Year plaudits in 1995, was a three-time All-Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference pick and earned DIII National Player of the Week honors seven times. In addition, Burt was a second-team all-american as a junior and first-team as a senior.

Paddock earned his Bachelor's of Science degree from Manchester in Business Administration in 1997. Burt and his wife, Carrie, are the proud parents of their daughter Hannah Leigh (4).
