Laker Baseball Welcomes 13 Newcomers For The 2010 Campaign

Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State, fresh off an appearance in the 2009 NCAA DII World Series, will welcome 13 newcomers to the fold for the 2010 campaign. GVSU returns 17 players from the 2009 squad, including 13 letterwinners. Grand Valley State head coach Steve Lyon enters his 12th year at he helm with a 420-166-2 mark at Grand Valley State and a string of seven straight GLIAC Tournament titles and eight consecutive GLIAC Championships. Lyon has guided GVSU to four NCAA DII World Series appearances and was a part of the 2009 squad that earned the programs first-ever No. 1 national ranking. The Lakers will begin fall practice Wednesday with preseason testing.
