Pitchers: UWP Brandon Kellbach (10-2); GVSU Jon Micoff (10-2)

Top 1st: CF Jim Healy KS, 2B Andy Garms walked, Garms steals second, Casey Garms singles, Adam Brechtl singles and scores Garms. Jason Wenzel singles to load the bases. Kevin Powell out 3U to score Casey Garms. LF Tim Baum to score two. Baum steals second. C Eric Krumsee flies out to right field. Parkside scores four runs on four hits.

Bottom 1st: 2B Scott Smith walks. SS Ryan Lyster singles down the thirdbase line and Smith advances to third. 1B Scott Allen drives a single to right field, scoring Smith. Lyster advances to second. RF Joe Mertes flies out to center. CF Brandon McFarland strikes out. C Elijah Beckwith singles to center to score Lyster. DH Matt Wright triples to center, scoring Allen and Beckwith. Sandy lines out to first. Lakers battle back with four in the bottom of the second on four hits.

Top 2nd: Wisconsin-Parkside is set down in order by Micoff.

Bottom 2nd: 3B Jeremy Lundberg strikes out swinging. Smith line a hard shot up the middle. Lyster is set down swinging. Allen walks and Smith advances to second. Mertes flies out to left. Lakers strand two on a hit and a walk.

Top 3rd: Micoff again sets down the Rangers in order. Micoff has retired seven straight.

Bottom 3rd: McFarland singles up the middle. Beckwith reaches on a fielders choice and McFarland is safe at second. Wright hits into a 463 double play. McFarland advances to third. Sandy singles up the middle to score McFarland and the Lakers have their first lead of the day 5-4. Sandy out 64 on Lundberg's fielders choice. Lakers score one on two hits.

Top 4th: Powell singles and then Baum reaches after a HBP. SAC bunt advances runners and Clark singles to drive in two. Jason LaBaumbard enters the game to pitch for Micoff. LaBaumbard gets the final two outs of the inning. UWP gets two runs on two hits to take a 6-5 lead.

Bottom 4th: Smith out 6-3. Lyster singles up the middle. Allen out on a 463 double play. Parkside leads 6-5 after four.

Top 5: Parkside scores three after a double, HBP, another double followed by yet another double. Krumsee reaches on an error that scores the Rangers 10th run. Parkside scores four on three hits, all doubles. UWP leads 10-5.

Bottom 5: Grand Valley State is retired in order.

Top 6: Sean McLeod to pitch for LaBaumbard. Healy leads off the inning with a walk. Garms reaches on a fielders choice. Healy out short to second. Garms out on a 643 double play.

Bottom 6: Matt Wright pops out to second. Sandy flies out to right. Tim Hudnall triples to right field. Smith out 63 to retire the Lakers. UWP leads 10-5.

Top 7: UWP strands a runner at third.

Bottom 7: Allen singles and Metes singles to advance Allen to third. McFarland flies out to center to score Allen. Beckwith retired 53.

Top 8: Parkside strands a double.

Bottom 8: Wright out 53 and Sandy flies out to right. Hudnall singles and Smith reaches on error by SS. Lyster strikes out looking. UWP leads 10-6 heading into the ninth.

Top 9: Joe Finnerty to pitch for McLeod. C. Garms singles to right. Bechtl doubles to left and advances Garms to third. Wenzel pops out to first. Powell singles to left scoring Garms. Bechtl advances to third. Baum walks. Krumsee reaches on a fielders choice. Bechtl out third to home. Clarke reaches on an error. Healy hits a HR to score four and gives UWP a 16-6 lead. Matt Middleton to pitch for the Lakers. Garms flies out to right. Rangers score six on four hits and one error. Four of the runs were unearned. Parkside leads 16-6.

Bottom of 9: Allen doubles to right. Mertes out 63. McFarland flies out to right field to score Allen. Beckwith flies out to center to end the game.
