Allendale, Mich. - 18th-ranked and second-seeded Grand Valley State will open the 2004 GLIAC Tournament Thursday at 12 noon versus third-seeded Saginaw Valley State at Ashland University. Top-seeded Ashland will square off against fourth-seeded Wayne State at 4 p.m.

Grand Valley State concluded the regular season with a four-game sweep over Gannon University, limiting the Golden Knights to three runs, two of which were earned, in 28 innings of baseball. GVSU is 23-3 in their last 26 games, including a mark of 19-3 in GLIAC action. GVSU's 36 regular-season wins is the most in school history.
