Allendale, Mich. - #7 Grand Valley State will entertain Mercyhurst in a key GLIAC series this Saturday and Sunday at the GVSU Baseball Field in Allendale. First pitch Saturday is set for 1 p.m., while Sunday's twinbill will begin at 12 noon. Grand Valley State enters the contest 34-8 overall 18-3 in GLIAC action, while Mercyhurst is 32-11 and 17-5.

"We are down to the final two weeks of the regular season and we will approach this weekend like we did the previous six weeks," said GVSU head coach Steve Lyon. "We must play fundemental baseball and do all the little things it takes to win games," added Lyon.

GVSU is ranked first in the NCAA DII North Central Regional rankings, while Mercyhurst was seventh this week. Mercyhurst enters this weekend series having won 15 straight games, while GVSU has won 10 straight and 19-of-21. Both Laker losses were at DI foes Michigan State and Eastern Michigan.
