Senior Matt Rafeld was named the GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. Rafeld threw a complete-game two-hit shutout as the Lakers defeated Wayne State, 7-0, on Saturday. He struck out six while not allowing a walk in seven innings of work, finishing his fifth complete game of the season. Rafeld is tied for second in the conference in wins (7), ranks third in innings pitched (64), and is tied for second in strike outs (59).

The Lakers are 32-14 overall and 19-7 in GLIAC play. GVSU will travel to Northwood University for a GLIAC doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
