Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State dropped a 2-1 decision to Ashland in the NCAA DII North Central Regional Championship game. Grand Valley State ends the season with a 47-10 record.
Ashland opened the scoring with two runs in the fifth on a couple of hits and a GVSU error. Grand Valley State scored one in the bottom of the sixth and had the bases loaded with one out, but Ashland reliever Josh Davidson came in and shut the door with a pair of strikeouts. Davidson set the Lakers down in order to preserve the win.
Grant Payton took the loss for Grand Valley State.Grand Valley State ended the contest with four hits.
