High School: Prepped at Muskegon Oakridge under head coach Brandon Barry...Named all-conference, all-area and all-state three times...Hit .584 with 38 RBI, 34 stolen bases and six home runs as a senior in leading his team to a conference and regional championship...Hit .467 as a junior with 41 RBI, 28 stolen bases and four home runs...Held a .546 batting average with 47 RBI, 56 runs scored and five home runs as a sophomore, helping team to a regional title...As a freshman, he hit .479 with 39 RBI, 32 stolen bases and five home runs...Also an all-conference, all-area and all-state performer in football and basketball.
