Appeared in nine games with four starts at the University of Pittsburgh in 2007...Notched a 2-0 record with 22 strikeouts in 34.1 innings...Sixth on the team in innings pitched...Pitched two years (2005-06) under head coach Mike Cupples at Grand Rapids Community College...Posted a 2.09 ERA as a freshman and was selected as the NJCAA Division II World Series MVP while helping the team to a NJCAA National Championship...Batted .365 and earned a 1.90 ERA as a sophomore.
High School:
Knuth played for three years under head coach Ted Hendrix at St. Joseph high school... was a standout both on the mound and at the plate... posted a .365 batting average with seven homeruns and 40 RBI's as well as a 1.28 ERA as a sophomore... batted a career-high .462 with 17 homeruns and 60 RBIs along with a 0.90 ERA as a junior... batted .450 with nine homeruns and 45 RBIs as well as a 2.03 ERA as a senior... helped the team earn a Regional Championship as sophomore and a District Championship as a senior... was named the All-Region utility player as a sophomore and All-State utility player as a junior and senior... a member of the St. Joseph Post 103 Legion team... was selected All-Conference in basketball as a junior and senior... member of the National Honors Society.
