Prepped at Davison High School under Coach Tim Rye....He was a three-time All Big 9 catcher....Hit .438 and was named All-League, All-Area and Second Team All-State as a junior...Hit .510 with five HR and 38 RBI....Named Firsts Team All-State and Dream Team in 2008...Earned all-state honors in both football as a three-year quarterback and as a wrestler...Was a part of two Division I State Championships in wrestling...Cowanwas also a member of the National Honor Society.
