High School: Prepped at Grand Rapids West Catholic under head coach Gary Cook...As a senior, he was named All-OK Blue, all-area, all-district, all-region and first team all-state...His junior year he was named all-conference, all-area, all-district and all-region...In his high school career, he was a .450 hitter and tallied 73 RBI, 77 runs, a .750 slugging percentage, eight home runs and 31 doubles...Also participated in football where he led West Catholic to their first state championship as the starting quarterback, completing 165-of-253 passes for a school record 2,500 yards and 23 touchdowns en route to being named all-conference, all-area and honorable mention all-state.
