Tailgate Show
The Tailgate Show kicks off a half-hour before the pre-game show on Laker Football game broadcasts. It's heard on the Grand Valley Football Radio network across Michigan, into Indiana and Ohio. The show features interviews and previews for the upcoming game as well as commentary by the host Steve Lloyd Jones. The Tailgate Show can be heard on WMUS 106.9, the 50,000 watt signal flagship station of GVSU athletics.
Basketball Radio
Basketball Game Broadcasts
Grand Valley State Men's Basketball games are broadcast on Grand Valley State University's flagship station, WMUS 106.9. WMUS is centered in Muskegon but reaches a much greater audience in the West Michigan area. This is your opportunity for high exposure to loyal fans.
The play-by-play is done by Steve Lloyd-Jones, with Kent Fisher adding color commentary. Commercial spots are a great way to plug your business but live mentions and segment sponsorships such as the "Starting Line-ups" are also a great way to advertise.
Ric Wesley Weekly Radio Show
The Coaches Show is a weekly look at the Laker Men's Basketball Program throughout the basketball season. The Coaches Show is broadcast "Live" every Monday at 6:30 PM on WTKG AM 1230 from Peppino's Sports Lounge in Allendale. Hosted by Steve Lloyd Jones and joined by head Men's Basketball Coach Ric Wesley.
Television
Grand Valley State University Athletics televises several games throughout the year through football and basketball. All football games are televised and select men's and women's basketball games are also televised. All games are shown on Comcast 900/901 across Michigan. Each month thousands of copies of the magazine are delivered straight to Allendale resident's mailboxes with some others being distributed to hot spots around West Michigan. GVSports the Mag is created solely from within the athletic department allowing for the direct affiliation. Schedule Cards
Grand Valley Athletics creates and distributes pocket schedule cards for the football and basketball seasons. The schedule cards are small, attractive fold-out cards that are perfect for sticking in wallets. They are full-color and offer ad space as well as logo placement. The schedule cards are distributed around the GVSU Downtown and Allendale campuses as well as local establishments.
Schedule Posters
