Laker Athletics also provides organizations a chance to interact with their customer base by being on-site at events and games. GVSU event marketing is a unique aspect of promoting that organizations can take advantage of in order to be face to face with fans. Football games are perfect for event marketing due to the Harbor. The Harbor is an area near the tailgate lots that is designed for the sole purpose of enhancing the game day experience. Enhancing the game day experience would
include your organization being on hand with promotional items, activities and information. Special events also provide an opportunity for organizations to be on-site promoting themselves in the same way. Promotional vehicles are also welcome as part of being a GVSU Athletics sponsor.

GVSU Athletic events and games provide a platform to hand out product samples, information and other items. Special events are a part of the Laker athletic experience and we love to bring our corporate partners along with us for the ride. Numerous events occur throughout the course of the academic year. The events mentioned below are just a glimpse at the special events Laker athletics has to offer. Further events can be customized for sponsors or pursued upon creation.
Community Night
It's a block party before a football game! An entire road leading to the stadium (right next to the tailgating areas) is blocked off for Community Night. Grand Valley State University is proud to present Community Night. Community Night is an opportunity for organizations to host a booth in the Laker football tailgate lots. The goals of Community Night are to:
• Spotlight area businesses and organizations to Grand Valley football fans and the West Michigan community.
• Increase our community's awareness of the products and services that are sold/provided in West Michigan.
• Give the exhibitors an opportunity to increase their exposure to the GVSU community and West Michigan.
• To enhance the game day experience at our football home opener.
Kid's Club Day
Kid's Club Day is an exciting, fun-filled day that happens twice a year, once during football season and once during basketball season. Kid's Club Day brings in area
mascots, businesses and organizations for kids 12 and under to enjoy. Activities range from bounce houses to cookie decorating to face painting. Kid's Club Day offers organizations a chance for on-site marketing like no other. Your business can be on hand to interact one-on-one with kids and their parents in an interesting and exciting way.
Kid's Club Day takes place inside the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. GVSU Athletics invite over 3,000 children to Kids Club Day accompanied by parents or guardians. It is free for children to attend the event. Children will also receive a free general admission voucher to the football or basketball game on that day.
