The current tennis courts at GVSU are located west of the Fieldhouse. In 2008 the GVSU tennis courts underwent some construction as the Kelly Family Sports Center was completed. The result, six new beautiful tennis courts which are adjacent to three sand volleyball courts, three outdoor basketball courts and a roller hockey court. The tennis courts have bleacher seating for easy viewing during matches. When the tennis teams are not using the courts, they are available for use by the general student body, GVSU faculty/staff and the general public. The courts are lighted which allows public use during evening hours as well. The surface is concrete and has recently been refinished.

With the recent success of the Laker tennis teams, fans got to come out to the courts in 2010 and 2011 to witness the Lakers compete in the NCAA tournament matches. This was the first time in the school history tennis hosted an NCAA tournament at GVSU.
